The Centre reconstituted the CBFC with an 18-member panel in September, following a gap of more than six years. The new board brings together members from diverse fields, including cinema, television, music, writing and theatre.
Apart from Pankaj Tripathi and Roopali Ganguly, the board includes actors Preity Zinta, Suniel Shetty, Pallavi Joshi and Prosenjit Chatterjee. Filmmaker Priyadarshan, musician Ricky Kej, singer Hansraj Hans and other members from the film and arts industries are also part of the panel.
The 150th board meeting brought together representatives from different creative fields and the CBFC's regional offices, while the visit to IIT Bombay provided members with an opportunity to experience research into emerging technologies, including generative AI and virtual reality.
