India Stay Strong as Rain Threatens Final Day of Colombo Test

India remain in control of the Colombo Test as Sri Lanka fight back at 229 for six. Rain ended the fourth day early, with Sonal Dinusha and Keshara Nuwantha continuing the hosts’ resistance.

India remain in a strong position in the second and final Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo, although rain threatens to disrupt the final day’s play.

Sri Lanka’s Sonal Dinusha has brought up his half-century and, alongside Keshara Nuwantha, is continuing to resist India’s bowling attack.

The hosts were 229 for six, with a 16-run lead, when rain brought the fourth day’s play to an early end yesterday. Pasindu Sooriyabandara scored 92 and shared an important partnership with Kamindu Mendis. India struck back in the final session, taking three wickets and restricting Sri Lanka’s lead.

Earlier, India enforced the follow-on after bowling Sri Lanka out for 290 in their first innings. Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar claimed three wickets each, while Saransh Jain took two wickets.
