On Tuesday, Bihar students protesting alleged irregularities in the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission examination clashed with police as they marched from Gandhi Maidan toward Raj Bhavan, demanding cancellation of the examination.

The protesters broke through police lines during the march, calling for the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission exam to be cancelled over alleged irregularities, paper leaks and a lack of transparency.

Police deployed water cannons near JP Golambar and Dak Bungalow Chowk as the situation escalated. Some protesters were also detained as students attempted to reach the Chief Minister's residence.

One protester stressed the need for the examination to be re-conducted, citing wider concerns over fairness in the recruitment process. The concerns also include issues related to the Teacher Recruitment Examination.
