BRICS Youth Summit Begins in Gandhinagar as India Puts Yuva Shakti at Centre
India’s BRICS Presidency 2026 hosts the Youth Council Meeting and Youth Summit in Gandhinagar, bringing young innovators, entrepreneurs and changemakers together to shape the BRICS Youth Joint Statement.
The two-day event places ‘Yuva Shakti’ at the centre of discussions on innovation and sustainable development. The deliberations will culminate in the BRICS Youth Ministers’ Meeting in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on August 22nd, where leaders will adopt the Joint Ministerial Statement on Youth Cooperation.
Official representatives, young innovators, entrepreneurs and changemakers from member and partner countries are participating in thematic discussions aimed at finalising the BRICS Youth Joint Statement and strengthening people-to-people ties across member nations.
The Gandhinagar meetings form part of India’s BRICS Presidency 2026 and focus on youth participation in innovation and sustainable development. The discussions will lead into the August 22nd ministerial meeting in Visakhapatnam, where the Joint Ministerial Statement on Youth Cooperation will be adopted.
The participation of official representatives and young leaders from member and partner countries is also aimed at strengthening people-to-people ties and advancing cooperation through the BRICS youth platform.
