US–Iran Tensions Escalate as Professor Xueqin Jiang Predicts Possible American Ground Presence in Iran Amid Ongoing Diplomatic Efforts
Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated following retaliatory strikes, even as diplomatic talks are planned in Doha. Professor Xueqin Jiang, speaking on The Piers Morgan Show, predicts possible US ground deployment in Iran. His claims about troop readiness and a future conflict have sparked global debate and online controversy over regional stability.
Amid this volatile geopolitical backdrop, Chinese academic Xueqin Jiang, widely referred to as the “Chinese Nostradamus,” has made a controversial prediction regarding the future of the conflict. Speaking on the talk show hosted by Piers Morgan, Professor Jiang claimed that “American boots on the ground” could be deployed in Iran as early as December or by next March to secure a political settlement.
He further stated that the United States would ultimately be compelled to deploy ground forces in Iran, asserting that there are ongoing preparations and that approximately 60,000 troops remain on standby for potential deployment. According to Jiang, despite the existence of a memorandum of understanding between the conflicting sides, a ground invasion could still occur. He described the agreement as a temporary measure intended to buy time for Washington, citing extreme weather conditions in Tehran as a contributing factor.
Professor Jiang added that the current situation represents a strategic waiting period, but maintained that eventual deployment of troops on the ground remains likely. He argued that the United States is effectively trapped in the Middle East conflict and suggested that any withdrawal by Donald Trump would significantly weaken American influence in the region while strengthening Iran’s position and confidence.
Jiang is also known for previously making predictions that gained widespread attention. In 2024, he correctly forecast that Trump would return to power in 2025 and subsequently enter into a conflict with Iran. He now asserts that his third prediction—that the United States will ultimately lose the war—has drawn significant global attention and online debate.
Public reaction to his latest remarks has been sharply divided. One user commented that such a scenario is “extremely unlikely,” but warned that if it were to occur, American casualties could exceed 100,000, calling it a potential political catastrophe. Another user expressed agreement with Jiang’s assessment, stating that the United States under Trump is not pursuing peace with Iran and framing the situation as a conflict between institutions that cannot coexist. A third commenter cautioned that any ground war would be disastrous, claiming that large-scale troop involvement would be unsustainable and that the United States could not afford such an escalation.
As diplomatic talks continue to unfold in Doha, Jiang’s remarks have intensified debate over the stability of the region and the potential trajectory of US–Iran relations.
