Marwari Catalysts Group Founder Expands Global Leadership Role to Boost International Opportunities for Indian Startups and MSMEs
Sushil Sharma, Chairman of Marwari Catalysts Group, has been appointed President of the MSME and Startup Vertical at BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry. His expanding global leadership roles, international engagements, and focus on Tier-II and Tier-III entrepreneurs are expected to create new opportunities for Indian startups, MSMEs, investments, exports, and cross-border innovation.
In addition to leading the Startup and MSME Vertical at BRICS CCI, Sharma serves as Global Mentor for Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Youth, Co-Chair of the Startup Vertical for Rotary District 3053, and Convener of the Rajasthan Chapter of the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council. Through these leadership roles, he is actively working to strengthen collaboration among governments, innovation ecosystems, investors, academic institutions, businesses, and industry stakeholders across international markets.
Sharma recently represented India during his visit to London, where he participated in London Tech Week, one of the world's largest technology and innovation events. During the visit, he held discussions with startup founders, venture capitalists, technology companies, innovation hubs, policymakers, corporate leaders, and members of the Indian diaspora to explore investment opportunities, technology partnerships, cross-border collaborations, and market access for Indian startups and MSMEs. The visit also expanded Marwari Catalysts Group's international network while opening new avenues for strategic partnerships.
Recognised as one of India's prominent voices on entrepreneurship and innovation, Sharma has addressed several prestigious national and international platforms. His speaking engagements include AIM Congress in Abu Dhabi, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit in China, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Forum in Russia, Investarise by Startup XChange in Dubai, TiEcon Udaipur, TiEcon Ahmedabad, the Startup and MSME Conclave in Bihar, HIM MSME Fest in Shimla, Vibrant Gujarat in Mehsana, the CEO Conclave in Jaipur, The Economic Times Business Summit in Jaipur, the Uttarakhand Thrive Summit at UPES in Dehradun, the Blue Economy Summit in Bhubaneswar, Pune Startup Fest, The Times of India leadership platform in Rajasthan, Rising Rajasthan, Startup Mahakumbh in New Delhi, and INDIASoft, among several other industry forums.
Sharing his vision for India's entrepreneurial future, Sharma said that the country's next wave of entrepreneurship will emerge from Tier-II and Tier-III cities. He stated that founders from these regions possess exceptional talent, resilience, and innovative thinking, but require global exposure, strategic mentorship, investor access, and entry into international markets. He added that his objective is to ensure geography never becomes a barrier for ambitious entrepreneurs.
Widely known for his minimalist lifestyle and purpose-driven leadership, Sharma believes sustainable success is achieved through long-term relationships, disciplined execution, and creating value for entrepreneurs rather than seeking personal recognition.
Commenting on Sharma's appointment, Sameep Shastri, Chairman of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said Sharma has consistently demonstrated an outstanding commitment to strengthening India's startup ecosystem. He said Sharma's work with entrepreneurs, particularly those from emerging cities, aligns with BRICS CCI's vision of promoting innovation-led economic growth and international cooperation. According to Shastri, Sharma's leadership will play a significant role in creating stronger global connections for startups and MSMEs while encouraging collaboration across BRICS economies.
Over the years, Marwari Catalysts Group has built a portfolio of more than 100 startups and established itself as one of India's leading startup ecosystem enablers. The organisation works closely with more than 10 prominent family offices, along with investors, corporations, academic institutions, government bodies, and international ecosystem partners, helping startups secure capital, strategic mentorship, market expansion opportunities, and access to global business networks.
With leadership responsibilities spanning BRICS CCI, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Youth, the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council, and Rotary's startup initiatives, Sharma is uniquely positioned to connect local innovation with global opportunities. His expanding international engagements are expected to significantly benefit Indian startups, MSMEs, and the ventures supported by Marwari Catalysts Group by facilitating access to international markets, strategic partnerships, technology collaborations, exports, investments, and global innovation ecosystems.
As India continues to strengthen its position as one of the world's fastest-growing innovation economies, Sharma's expanding leadership roles reflect the increasing global recognition of entrepreneurs and ecosystem builders from beyond metropolitan regions. His appointment reinforces the belief that world-class innovation and entrepreneurial excellence can emerge from every part of the country.
