Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls Launched Across Andhra Pradesh Covering 4.16 Crore Voters
Andhra Pradesh launches Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls covering 4.16 crore voters across 28 districts and 175 constituencies. Led by Election Commission directives, the month-long drive involves large-scale deployment of officials, door-to-door verification, and digital processing to ensure accurate and updated voter records ahead of future elections.
Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav announced that the exercise is being conducted in accordance with directions issued by the Election Commission of India under constitutional and legal provisions governing electoral roll management. He confirmed that the revision aims to enhance the accuracy and integrity of the voter database ahead of future elections.
As part of the process, every voter whose name appeared on the electoral roll as of May 25, 2026, will receive a unique, partially pre-filled Enumeration Form. Election authorities stated that all forms have already been printed and distribution has commenced across the state. On the first day alone, 4,12,384 forms were distributed, while 4,115 forms were digitised into the system.
To ensure effective execution of the large-scale exercise, more than 46,000 Booth Level Officers, nearly 69,000 Booth Level Agents, 175 Electoral Registration Officers, 1,076 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and 28 District Election Officers have been deployed across Andhra Pradesh.
Officials further stated that Booth Level Officers will visit households at least three times during the enumeration period to distribute and collect forms, ensuring accessibility and convenience for voters. Citizens have also been advised to verify their details and those of their family members through the Election Commission’s voter services portal before completing the forms. Additional assistance is available through the ECINet application’s “Book-a-Call with Booth Level Officer” feature and the toll-free voter helpline 1950.
The Election Commission expects the intensive revision to significantly strengthen the accuracy and reliability of electoral rolls in preparation for upcoming electoral processes.
Meanwhile, the opposition YSR Congress Party has called for close monitoring of the revision exercise. Party chief and former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has urged party workers to ensure that no genuine voter is removed from the electoral rolls, while also demanding greater transparency and safeguards against wrongful deletions.
The large-scale revision drive marks a significant administrative effort aimed at reinforcing voter roll integrity across Andhra Pradesh.
