Rohtak Police Station Violence Video Involving INLD State Secretary Manjeet Kanheli Goes Viral Amid Fresh Controversy

The incident is said to have taken place at Shivaji Colony Police Station during a meeting linked to Sunarian village, where Kanheli had been called. According to available details, an argument broke out during the discussion, which quickly escalated into a physical clash between Kanheli and SHO Rakesh Saini along with other police personnel present at the scene. The video reportedly captures chaotic scenes inside the police station, with both sides engaged in a scuffle until bystanders intervened to separate them and restore order. No formal case was registered at the time of the incident.

The timing of the video’s circulation has sparked political debate, especially as another video involving INLD legislator Arjun Chautala recently surfaced, in which he was allegedly seen hurling abuses at the Rohtak Superintendent of Police.

Reacting to the viral clip, Manjeet Kanheli stated in a media interaction that the incident occurred in October 2025 and that the situation had been resolved at the time without any further action from either side. He claimed that the video is being deliberately circulated now to damage his party’s reputation and alleged that he is being subjected to blackmail by certain individuals demanding favors. He further stated that upon refusal, the video was released on social media.

Attempts to obtain a response from SHO Rakesh Saini remained unsuccessful as he did not answer calls for comment.

It has also been reported that the Shivaji Colony Police Station incident occurred during a gathering related to Sunarian village, where differing opinions during discussions allegedly triggered the confrontation, leading to verbal abuse and physical aggression inside the police station premises.

Separate from this incident, Manjeet Kanheli is also facing a serious criminal case related to the alleged murder of his sister, Puja. The incident dates back to December 2020 near the Maharshi Dayanand University gate, where the victim was killed. Police investigations at the time suggested that the victim had been in a relationship with a young man and had left home with him, which allegedly angered Kanheli. She was later shot four times, and Kanheli was accused in the case. The matter is currently pending before a court, and he remains out on bail.

Kanheli has maintained that the video is part of a targeted attempt to defame him and his party, reiterating that the matter had already been settled and that no complaint was filed by either side at the time of the alleged incident. He further stated that he will file a police complaint regarding the circulation of the video and inform senior party leadership about the matter.

The controversy also highlights Kanheli’s shifting political affiliations. He was earlier associated with the Congress party and was frequently seen at events connected to the Hooda family. He later distanced himself from the Congress, accusing the leadership of neglect and exploitation, and subsequently joined INLD. He was prominently seen with the Chautala family during the INLD rally held in Rohtak on September 25 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Devi Lal. He is now considered a close associate of Abhay Chautala.
