Madhya Pradesh MLA Yogendra Singh Baba Narrowly Escapes Death as SUV Crashes into Wall and Catches Fire in Seoni

The incident took place near Banjari village under the jurisdiction of Dhuma Police Station when the legislator was returning from Jabalpur to his native village, Ghurwada. According to official information, the driver lost control of the vehicle while swerving to avoid a cow crossing the road, resulting in a violent collision with the boundary wall of Banjari High School, also known as Herbal Garden, situated along the highway.

Following the impact, the vehicle reportedly caught fire within moments and was reduced to ashes. Initial reports suggested that the doors of the sport utility vehicle became jammed after the crash, raising the risk of entrapment. However, swift intervention by local villagers ensured that all occupants were rescued safely before the flames intensified.

The vehicle was carrying MLA Yogendra Singh Baba, his gunman Raju Dhurve, and driver Annu at the time of the accident. All three were immediately taken to the hospital in Lakhnadon for medical attention. Officials confirmed that the legislator and his gunman sustained only minor injuries, while the driver suffered a cut on his lip that required stitches. All three individuals were later discharged after treatment.

Lakhnadon Sub-Divisional Police Officer Apoorva Bhalavi stated that the preliminary investigation indicates the accident occurred due to the driver attempting to avoid a cow on the roadway, which led to loss of control and the subsequent crash. Police officials are continuing to gather detailed information to further assess the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The accident highlights the persistent road safety challenges on national highways where unexpected obstacles continue to pose serious risks to motorists, even resulting in near-fatal incidents involving public representatives.
