During the talks, both sides reviewed the full spectrum of India–UK relations with particular emphasis on strategic coordination, political cooperation, ongoing trade agreement negotiations, education, technology, mobility, and people-to-people exchanges. The two leaders agreed to define and advance the next steps required to further strengthen and institutionalize these multifaceted ties.
The discussions also included a comprehensive exchange of views on key regional and global developments, including the ongoing Ukraine conflict, the situation in West Asia, developments in Bangladesh, and matters related to the Commonwealth. Dr. Jaishankar underscored that in an increasingly uncertain and volatile global environment, strong India–UK relations remain a stabilizing force that contributes to international stability and shared prosperity.
Dr. Jaishankar is currently on an official visit to the United Kingdom and Ireland scheduled from March 4 to March 9. As part of this diplomatic tour, he is set to travel to Ireland for a two-day visit beginning tomorrow, where he will engage in formal discussions with Ireland’s Foreign Minister Simon Harris and other senior dignitaries. He is also scheduled to interact with members of the Indian community during his visit.
The engagements reflect continued efforts by both India and its European partners to deepen strategic alignment, expand cooperation across critical sectors, and reinforce long-term diplomatic and economic partnerships.
