Mumbai History-Sheeter Arrested After Brutal Domestic Assault, Captivity and Knife Attack on Wife
Mumbai police arrested 25-year-old history-sheeter Arbaaz Syed after he allegedly brutally assaulted his wife, held her captive, issued death threats with a sword and acid warning, and later attacked her with a knife at her parents’ home. The accused has 19 prior criminal cases. Legal proceedings are underway.
According to officials, the accused, identified as 25-year-old Arbaaz Syed, first assaulted his wife following a domestic dispute and then forcibly confined her inside their house. During the captivity, he allegedly issued death threats using a sword and warned her of disfiguring acid attacks. He further compelled her to remain in a humiliating crouched position for nearly four hours.
The victim eventually managed to escape the confinement and fled to her parents’ residence in an attempt to save her life. However, the accused allegedly tracked her down and arrived at her parents’ home. In a violent outburst, he again assaulted his wife and attacked her with a knife, creating panic at the location.
Following the incident, the victim’s family immediately informed the police. A police team reached the scene without delay and detained Arbaaz Syed. He was subsequently arrested in connection with the case.
During the investigation, police confirmed that the accused is a known history-sheeter with 19 serious criminal cases registered against him across multiple police stations.
Based on the complaint filed by the injured wife, police have registered a case against the accused under multiple serious legal provisions. Authorities have initiated procedures to send him to judicial custody.
The incident has highlighted severe concerns regarding repeated violent behavior by individuals with prior criminal records and the urgent need for strict legal action in such cases to ensure public safety and accountability.
