Adani Group Signs MoUs With Gujarat Government to Transform 11 ITIs in Kutch Through Industry-Focused Skill Development

Adani Skills & Education signed two MoUs with the Gujarat government to transform 11 Industrial Training Institutes in Kutch through industry-focused technical training. The initiative aims to create local employment, reduce skilled workforce migration and develop industry-ready talent pipelines for renewable energy, logistics and infrastructure sectors.

In a major push towards industry-linked skill development and employment generation, Adani Skills & Education (ASE) on Friday signed two Memorandums of Understanding with the Gujarat government to transform 11 Industrial Training Institutes across Kutch into advanced centres of technical education and workforce training.

The initiative aims to create employment opportunities for local youth, reduce migration of skilled workers and develop industry-ready talent pipelines for sectors including renewable energy, logistics and infrastructure. ASE, the Adani Group’s capability-building platform, said the programme is designed to build scalable talent ecosystems aligned with industry and enterprise demand.

The agreement signing ceremony was attended by Gujarat Cabinet Minister for Labour, Skill Development and Employment and Rural Development Kunvarjibhai Bavaliya, Minister of State for Labour, Skill Development and Employment Kantilal Amrutiya, senior government officials, senior leadership from the Adani Group, faculty members and students representing all 11 government ITIs of Kutch.

Addressing the gathering, Bavaliya underlined the importance of industry-oriented technical education in strengthening the country’s workforce. He said the government’s primary objective is to provide globally competitive technical training to young people and ensure self-reliance under the Skill India mission. He stated that skilled youth form the foundation of a prosperous nation.

According to ASE, the initiative is focused on strengthening Kutch’s local workforce and ensuring that the region’s industrial and economic growth is increasingly driven by locally trained talent. The organisation stated that its 10-point agenda for transforming ITIs is now being recognised in other states as a “Gujarat Model” for skill development and employment-oriented training.

Robin Bhowmik, Chief Executive Officer of ASE, described Kutch as central to the organisation’s long-term vision for skill development. He said Kutch remains the organisation’s “karma bhoomi” and affirmed ASE’s continued commitment to the region’s future. He stated that the partnership with the Gujarat government and ITIs across Kutch is aimed at building a continuously skilled and industry-ready workforce capable of contributing across sectors while supporting long-term regional transformation.

Through its “Skill2Employ” model, ASE combines classroom-based education with practical operational exposure. The programme includes simulation-based learning, Centres of Excellence, trainer training programmes and globally benchmarked curricula to create a workforce capable of delivering productivity from the very first day on the job.

The initiative marks a significant step in linking industrial growth with local employment generation in Gujarat. With direct industry participation and government collaboration, the project is expected to strengthen technical education infrastructure in Kutch while preparing thousands of young people for employment opportunities in high-growth sectors.
