Iran Launches Massive Missile and Drone Strike on UAE Amid Ceasefire; Three Indian Nationals Injured
Iran launched a large-scale missile and drone strike on the UAE during a ceasefire period, injuring three Indian nationals. UAE air defenses intercepted most attacks, but a drone caused a fire in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone. India condemned the attack, reaffirming support for UAE and stressing diplomatic resolution. The incident raises concerns over regional stability and energy security in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, Iran fired 12 ballistic missiles, 3 cruise missiles, and 4 drones targeting multiple locations across the country. The air defense network successfully neutralized most of the projectiles before impact, significantly limiting the overall damage.
However, one drone reportedly fell within the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, causing a fire and raising serious concerns over the security of critical energy infrastructure. Emergency response teams were deployed immediately to contain the situation and assess the extent of the damage.
Three Indian citizens injured in the incident have been admitted to hospital. Medical officials have confirmed that their condition is stable and they are receiving appropriate treatment.
The Government of India strongly condemned the attack. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India condemns the strikes on the UAE, which resulted in injuries to Indian nationals. He emphasized that targeting civilians and critical infrastructure is completely unacceptable. India reiterated its full support for the UAE and reaffirmed its commitment to resolving all disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.
Prime Minister Modi also highlighted the strategic importance of ensuring safe and uninterrupted passage through the Strait of Hormuz, stating that it is essential for regional peace, stability, and global energy security.
The incident has heightened regional tensions, particularly given its timing during a ceasefire period. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as investigations and security assessments are underway.
