Singh told media personnel that the purpose of the visit was to receive his parents’ blessings and complete bank KYC formalities.
Providing details about the marriage, Singh stated that the wedding ceremony took place at the Aghanjar Mahadev Temple in Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Shivratri. He further added that the couple solemnized their union through a court marriage on February 19.
Abhay Singh, a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B), had pursued aerospace engineering before later shifting his academic focus to the arts and completing a master’s degree in design. Despite professional success, Singh experienced depression during his time in Canada. Struggling with mental health issues, he chose to leave his corporate career and turn towards spirituality. His story came into the public domain during the 2025 Mahakumbh, where he was seen dressed as an ordinary sadhu. His identity as an IIT Bombay graduate during an interview surprised many and led to his widespread recognition as ‘IIT Baba’.
