Summer Rush Relief: Weekly Special Train Announced Between Samastipur and Mumbai to Tackle Passenger Surge

Indian Railways introduces a weekly summer special train between Samastipur and Mumbai from April to July 2026 to manage rising passenger demand, reduce waiting lists, and provide relief during peak travel season.

In a significant move to address the surge in passenger traffic during the summer season, the Samastipur Rail Division has introduced a special weekly train service connecting Samastipur to Mumbai. The decision aims to ease travel for thousands of passengers commuting between the two regions during the peak vacation period.

With the onset of summer holidays, the number of passengers t

ravelling from Samastipur and nearby areas to Mumbai rises sharply. A large section of these travelers includes individuals residing in Mumbai for employment or education, who frequently commute to their hometowns during vacations. This seasonal movement often leads to a severe shortage of confirmed train tickets, with long waiting lists and overcrowding further intensifying passenger difficulties.

Taking these challenges into account, Indian Railways has taken an important administrative decision. The Samastipur Rail Division has officially announced the operation of a summer special train to manage the additional passenger load, offering much-needed relief to commuters.
