DhanbadLokmanya Tilak Terminus Weekly Express Launched as Regular Service, Boosting Direct Mumbai Connectivity
A new weekly express train between Dhanbad and Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus has been launched as a regular service, covering 1,848 km with 28 stops. The move enhances connectivity and benefits passengers traveling for work, education, and medical needs.
The train departed from Dhanbad Railway Station’s platform number 7 at 11 pm on Monday night. Member of Parliament Dhullu Mahto flagged off the service, marking the official commencement of its regular operations. This transition from a special train to a permanent service is expected to significantly benefit passengers traveling for employment, education, and medical purposes by providing a direct link to Mumbai.
The announcement of regular operations created a celebratory atmosphere in Dhanbad. When the train arrived at Dhanbad Junction, it received a grand स्वागत from local residents, passengers, and public representatives. On the occasion, MP Dhullu Mahto and Divisional Railway Manager Akhilesh Kumar were present. The train was also welcomed at several stations along its route, underscoring its importance for the regions it connects.
Covering a total distance of 1,848 kilometres, the weekly train will halt at 28 stations during its journey. After departing from Dhanbad, it is scheduled to reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai at 1:40 pm on Wednesday. On the return journey, the train will depart from Mumbai at 4:55 pm on Wednesday and arrive in Dhanbad at 8 am on Friday. This fixed schedule is expected to help passengers plan their travel more efficiently.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Dhullu Mahto described the day as special, noting that the train’s launch coincided with the foundation day of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He assured that efforts would continue to enhance passenger facilities
while maintaining public trust. He also expressed intent to work towards upgrading the service from a weekly to a daily operation in the future.
The introduction of this regular weekly train service has sparked a wave of satisfaction among passengers traveling between Dhanbad and Mumbai, marking a crucial step in strengthening regional connectivity and improving travel convenience.
