Helicopter service for Badrinath-Kedarnath Dham will begin April 26 from Jolly Grant helipad, operated by Rudraksh Aviation with MI-17 helicopters. Char Dham Yatra 2026 starts April 19 with mandatory online registration already underway.

The announcement comes in alignment with the officially declared opening dates of the Char Dham shrines. The kapat of Yamunotri and Gangotri will open on April 19, 2026, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, marking the formal beginning of this year’s pilgrimage. Kedarnath Dham will open its doors on April 22, followed by Badrinath Dham on April 23, 2026.
Authorities have already initiated preparations for the annual pilgrimage, with online registration made mandatory for all pilgrims. The registration process began on March 6 and remains a crucial administrative requirement to regulate and manage the influx of devotees.
As the Char Dham Yatra 2026 is set to begin from April 19, the introduction of helicopter services is expected to significantly ease travel for pilgrims, particularly in the challenging Himalayan terrain.
