Use your registration credentials to download the PDF and check the selection process details for over 7,900 vacancies

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has reached a pivotal milestone in its 2025-2026 recruitment cycle by officially releasing the provisional Answer Keys for the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination. Following the commencement of the nationwide computer-based tests on February 4, 2026, the Commission’s move to provide immediate transparency allows thousands of aspirants to cross-reference their responses and estimate their scores. This release is a critical step for candidates vying for one of the 7,948 sanctioned positions, marking the transition from the examination phase to the evaluation and grievance redressal period.

The journey for these applicants began in mid-2025, with the registration window opening on June 26 and concluding on July 24. After a series of administrative windows for fee payments and application corrections in late July and August, the Commission implemented a self-slot booking system in January 2026 to streamline the testing process. The release of the Answer Key on March 3, 2026, follows a rapid turnaround from the exam start date, reflecting the SSC's commitment to maintaining an efficient recruitment timeline. Candidates can now access their specific response sheets by logging into the official SSC portal using their unique enrollment or registration numbers and dates of birth.

Beyond the immediate score calculation, the release brings the specific eligibility and selection criteria back into focus. The recruitment drive seeks to fill 6,810 MTS roles and 1,138 Havaldar posts, both requiring a minimum of a Class 10 qualification. While the MTS selection is primarily merit-based through the written exam, those contending for Havaldar positions must also prepare for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). These physical requirements are rigorous, including a 1600-meter walking task for males within 15 minutes and a 1-kilometer walk for females within 20 minutes, alongside specific height and chest measurements.

As the portal for the Answer Key remains active, candidates are encouraged to meticulously review their exam details—including shift timings and personal data—to ensure no administrative discrepancies exist. Following the evaluation of the Answer Key and the resolution of any potential objections, the Commission will move toward the Document Verification and Medical Examination stages. This recruitment drive remains one of the most significant entry-level opportunities in the federal workforce, serving as a gateway for youth across the country to secure stable administrative and law enforcement roles within the Government of India.
