Mumbai Metro Extends Late-Night Services for Navratri Garba Dancers Until 12:30 AM

Mumbai Metro extended late-night train services until 12:30 a.m. from October 16 to 20 for Navratri Garba celebrations. Discover how Maha Mumbai Metro's campaign and 15-minute train intervals aim to ease festive travel.

Mumbai’s Navratri celebrations are spilling onto streets and into neighbourhood lanes, with spontaneous Garba gatherings drawing residents into the festive atmosphere. As dancers continue celebrating beyond formal venues, Maha Mumbai Metro has extended late-night train services to help commuters return home after the festivities.

The metro operator also launched a campaign video capturing familiar moments of Navratri, including carefully applied make-up, fasting dancers and the temptation to join just one more round of Garba. The campaign encourages commuters to avoid road traffic by choosing the metro for a smoother journey home.

To accommodate the increased travel demand during the festive period, Maha Mumbai Metro extended services until 12:30 a.m. on key lines from October 16 to 20. Trains operated at intervals of 15 minutes during the extended service period, providing additional travel options for people attending Garba celebrations.

Mumbai’s streets remain a focal point of Navratri festivities, with residents gathering in neighbourhood lanes and embracing the celebrations on green-themed days and beyond organised venues. The metro’s campaign combines the excitement of these gatherings with practical travel support, addressing the need for convenient late-night transportation.
