Mumbai Weather Update: Light Rain Likely as Delhi Braces for More Showers
Mumbai may see light rain and partly cloudy skies on Monday, while Delhi is expected to receive another spell of showers, thunderstorms and lightning before rainfall activity decreases from September 8.
The city is expected to witness a high tide of 3.77 metres at 9:09 am, followed by another high tide of 3.25 metres at 9:01 pm. A low tide of 2.04 metres is expected at 3:12 pm, while another low tide measuring 1.03 metres is forecast for 3:07 am on September 8.
Between 8 am on September 6 and 8 am on September 7, Mumbai recorded varying amounts of rainfall across its three administrative regions. The average rainfall recorded was 3.49 mm in the city, 8.20 mm in the eastern suburbs and 6.04 mm in the western suburbs.
Meanwhile, Delhi is likely to witness another spell of rainfall on Monday, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting showers at several places across the national capital.
The weather department said a low-pressure area over southwest Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas continued to influence weather conditions over Delhi and surrounding regions. Parts of the national capital received rainfall on Sunday, bringing some relief from the prevailing humid conditions.
According to the IMD forecast, Monday is expected to be the wettest day of the week. Very light to light rain is likely at many places, while isolated areas may receive moderate showers. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also expected during the morning and forenoon hours. Another spell of light rain could occur from the afternoon to evening.
From September 8, rainfall activity is expected to decrease, with the capital likely to experience partly cloudy skies. The maximum temperature on Tuesday is forecast to remain between 33 degree Celsius and 35 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature could be between 24 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius.
On September 9 and 10, the maximum temperature is expected to remain around 32 degree Celsius to 34 degree Celsius, with minimum temperatures likely to stay between 24 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius. The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy on September 11 and 12, with daytime temperatures ranging between 31 degree Celsius and 33 degree Celsius. No rainfall has been forecast for these two days.
