Delhi Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead of Janmashtami as NH-44 Faces Congestion Risk

Delhi Police has issued a Janmashtami traffic advisory as devotees head to Khatu Shyam Delhi Dham Temple in Narela. NH-44 traffic may be affected between Singhu Border and Mukarba Chowk.

Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of Janmashtami celebrations in the national capital, with a large number of devotees expected to visit the Khatu Shyam Delhi Dham Temple in Narela, raising the possibility of heavy pedestrian movement and traffic congestion in the area.

The advisory will remain in effect from 7 am on September 4, 2026, to 1 am on September 5. During this period, traffic is expected to be affected on the NH-44 stretch between Singhu Border and Mukarba Chowk.

Commuters have been advised to avoid the stretch as far as possible. Motorists can instead use UER-II and Palla-Bakhtawarpur Road to reach their destinations.

Depending on the traffic situation, diversions may be put in place at Singhu Border, Bakoli on UER-II and Mukarba Chowk. Traffic personnel will be deployed at these points to manage vehicles and guide commuters towards alternative routes.
