Badaun Man Dies After Consuming Poison; Viral Video Before Death Alleges Wife Was Influenced by Villager

A 27-year-old electric rickshaw driver from Badaun died after allegedly consuming aluminium phosphide following a dispute with his wife over his alcohol addiction. A viral video recorded before his death accuses a fellow villager of influencing his wife and humiliating him. Police have sent the body for post-mortem and are examining the viral video as part of the investigation.

A 27-year-old man died after allegedly consuming aluminium phosphide in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun district following a domestic dispute that erupted after his wife objected to his alcohol addiction. A video recorded by the deceased before his death surfaced on social media a day later, in which he accused a fellow villager of influencing his wife against him and claimed the alleged harassment drove him to take the extreme step.

The incident took place in Nagariya Chikan village under the Usawan Police Station limits in Badaun district. The deceased, identified as Pankaj, son of Hariprasad, earned his livelihood by driving an electric rickshaw on the Myaun-Gautara road. According to family members, Pankaj was addicted to alcohol, and frequent arguments took place at home over his drinking habit.

The latest dispute began after his wife, Neelam, objected to him returning home under the influence of alcohol. The argument escalated, after which Neelam left the house and went to her parental home in Devra village under the Paraur Police Station area of Shahjahanpur district.

Upset over his wife's departure, Pankaj allegedly consumed aluminium phosphide at his residence. After family members learned about the incident, they rushed him to a private hospital for treatment. However, he died during treatment.
