Rajnath Singh Hails India’s Rapid Economic Rise as GDP Growth Hits 7.7 Percent

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlights India’s strong economic performance with 7.7 percent GDP growth in FY 2025–26, calling it evidence of resilience built over 12 years. He credits leadership, innovation, and infrastructure focus for transforming India into a stable and globally respected economic power while creating opportunities for 1.4 billion citizens.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has stated that India continues to distinguish itself as the world’s fastest-growing major economy, even as several nations grapple with global economic uncertainty. He referred to the recorded Gross Domestic Product growth rate of 7.7 percent for the financial year 2025–26, describing it as a reflection of the resilience and underlying strength of the Indian economy built over the past 12 years.

In a post shared on social media, Singh emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has successfully combined economic growth with stability, confidence, sustainability, and credibility. He said the achievement represents the outcome of consistent policy direction and structural strengthening of the economy over more than a decade.

The Defence Minister further highlighted that Prime Minister Modi’s unwavering commitment to nation-building, along with a strong focus on innovation, infrastructure development, and entrepreneurship, has enabled India to navigate unprecedented global challenges. He stated that this approach has transformed the country into a confident, resilient, and globally respected economic power.

Singh added that the sustained growth trajectory continues to generate new opportunities and reinforce the aspirations of 1.4 billion citizens, positioning India on a stronger footing in the global economic landscape.
