Teen Fatally Stabbed After Refusing Invitation to Witness Sacrificial Slaughter in Ghaziabad

The incident occurred on Thursday evening near Sharma Dairy, where 17-year-old Surya Pratap was spending time with friends. According to the information available, his neighbour, Asad, invited him to watch a goat being slaughtered as part of Bakrid festivities. When Surya declined the invitation and attempted to leave the location, an argument reportedly ensued.

During the confrontation, Asad allegedly stabbed Surya four times in the stomach. Despite suffering severe injuries, Surya reportedly ran nearly 200 metres with the knife still lodged in his body before collapsing. He was rushed for medical treatment and admitted to Fortis Hospital in Noida. However, he succumbed to his injuries the following day.

Police launched an investigation immediately after the attack. The case was initially registered as attempted murder but was later upgraded to murder following Surya's death. Authorities stated that there had been previous tensions between the accused and the victim.

In connection with the case, police arrested Asad's father, Farhan, along with Asif and Nawab. The main accused, Asad, remains absconding, and efforts are underway to locate and arrest him.

The incident sparked strong reactions from the victim's family, who demanded strict legal action against those responsible. Hindu organisations also staged protests outside the Police Station, raising concerns over the killing and calling for swift justice.

Given the tense atmosphere in the locality, police increased security deployment and intensified monitoring to maintain law and order and prevent any escalation of tensions.

The killing of the teenage student has drawn widespread attention across the region, with the investigation now focused on apprehending the absconding accused and ensuring accountability in a case that has intensified communal sensitivities and public concern over violent crime.
