Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Tragedy: Bus Driver Killed, 14 Passengers Injured After Bus Crashes Into Truck in Sawai Madhopur
A devastating accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur district claimed the life of a Jaipur-based bus driver and left around 14 passengers injured. The private bus travelling from Indore to Haridwar crashed into a timber-laden truck near Bonli, prompting a major rescue operation and police investigation.
The accident occurred near Bonli on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway at Channel Number 257. According to preliminary information, the private bus, which was travelling from Indore to Haridwar, collided with a truck loaded with timber. The bus reportedly crashed into the rear of the truck after becoming uncontrollable.
The deceased driver was identified as Kaluram, a resident of Jaipur. He sustained fatal injuries in the collision and died at the scene.
Approximately 14 passengers travelling on the bus were injured in the accident. Following the incident, Station House Officer Jitendra Singh Solanki of Bonli Police Station reached the spot and supervised the rescue operation.
All injured passengers were shifted to the Community Health Centre in Bonli for medical treatment. Two passengers who suffered serious injuries were referred to a higher medical centre for advanced treatment.
The body of the deceased driver, Kaluram, was placed in the mortuary of the Community Health Centre in Bonli. Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the accident.
The latest fatal crash on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has once again raised concerns over road safety on one of the country's most important highway corridors, as authorities continue their probe into the incident.
