#Draft: Add Your High Court Revokes Anticipatory Bail of Retired Judge in Daughter-in-Law Death Case

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has revoked anticipatory bail of retired judge Giribala Singh in the Twisha Sharma death case, where autopsy findings revealed multiple unexplained injuries alongside hanging. The Central Bureau of Investigation is probing alleged harassment, dowry demand of 200,000 rupees, and suspected post-death conduct, intensifying legal scrutiny.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has cancelled the anticipatory bail granted to retired judge Giribala Singh in connection with the suspicious death of her daughter-in-law, Twisha Sharma, intensifying a case that has drawn national attention over allegations of harassment and dowry demand.

Twisha Sharma died on May 12, 2026, under circumstances initially reported as hanging. However, an autopsy revealed seven unexplained injuries in addition to signs consistent with hanging, raising serious questions about the nature of her death. The victim’s family has alleged persistent harassment and a dowry demand of 200,000 Indian rupees made by Giribala Singh.

Following concerns over procedural lapses by local police authorities, the Central Bureau of Investigation has taken over the investigation. The agency has cited non-cooperation from Giribala Singh during the inquiry and has also examined alleged post-death phone calls linked to her conduct after the incident.

Twisha Sharma’s husband, Samarth, remains in judicial custody as the investigation continues. The probe is also focusing on CCTV footage, call records, and claims surrounding Twisha Sharma’s reported mental health struggles prior to her death.
