Violent Assault Over Alleged Harassment in Raebareli Leaves Women Injured; Disturbing Video Goes Viral
A violent confrontation in Dalmau Kotwali area of Raebareli allegedly erupted after harassment accusations, leaving multiple women injured. The accused reportedly attacked victims with sticks and iron rods after resistance. A viral video has sparked outrage as police confirm injuries on both sides and begin investigation.
The incident reportedly took place in Puray Rana Ka Purwa, a hamlet under Santpur village. According to the victim, she was resting at her home when individuals identified as Arjun, Ganga Dayal, Lal Bahadur, and Vijay arrived at the location. The accused allegedly began engaging in obscene behavior and attempted harassment.
When the woman strongly objected to the conduct, the situation escalated rapidly. The accused, acting in coordination, allegedly attacked her using sticks and iron rods. As the confrontation intensified, a woman named Phoolgenda, who intervened in an attempt to mediate and stop the violence, was also attacked. She sustained serious injuries in the assault involving sticks and iron rods.
Following the incident, the victims submitted a formal complaint at the Dalmau Kotwali Police Station. The complaint names Arjun, son of Ramdeen; Ganga Dayal, son of Revati; Lal Bahadur, son of Ganga Dayal; Vijay, son of Arjun; Rekha, wife of Balwant; and Dhanno, wife of Arjun, as accused persons. The complainants have demanded strict legal action against all individuals involved.
Dalmau Kotwali Police Station in-charge Raghavan Singh stated that both sides have reported injuries in the altercation. He further confirmed that the police have initiated an investigation into the matter. Legal proceedings will follow upon the completion of the inquiry.
The incident, now widely circulated online, has intensified concerns over public safety and the escalation of local disputes into violent confrontations, as authorities continue their probe.
