Amit Shah Visits Sanchu Border Post in Bikaner, Calls for Unbreakable Security Grid Along India–Pakistan Border
Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the Sanchu Border Post in Bikaner highlights India’s intensified border security strategy. He praised BSF bravery, emphasized modernization, announced anti-drone systems within six months, and reviewed infrastructure upgrades, barracks expansion, and women empowerment in border forces under a comprehensive national security vision.
During his visit to the historic Sanchu post, Amit Shah praised the courage and operational readiness of the Border Security Force and stated that whenever Pakistan had attempted to seize control of the area in the past, Indian soldiers had given a firm and fitting response. He lauded the BSF’s contribution to border security and emphasized the need for constant vigilance against threats originating across the border, asserting that adversaries must be met with uncompromising force.
The Home Minister specifically highlighted the bravery and alertness of BSF personnel during Operation Sindoor, commending their exceptional conduct. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s security architecture has undergone a comprehensive transformation over recent years, with continuous modernization of both the armed forces and the Border Security Force to ensure stronger and more secure borders.
Amit Shah stated that the sacrifice of more than 200 border security personnel represents a debt owed by 1.4 billion citizens of India. During the visit, he interacted with the personnel, shared refreshments with them, inspected a weapons exhibition, and also participated in tree plantation at the Sanchu Border Post. He further visited the Sanchu Mata Temple and prayed for the nation’s security and prosperity.
The Home Minister also emphasized that women personnel are now performing ahead of men in several aspects of border security operations. He announced that by the year 2030, the government will ensure comprehensive facilities for women deployed at border outposts. In Rajasthan alone, BSF border posts have been allocated infrastructure development worth ₹400 million for 79 barracks, out of which 14 have been inaugurated and 67 completed, while the remaining 12 are nearing completion. Additionally, barracks worth ₹2 billion are being constructed for 360 border outposts.
Amit Shah’s visit is being viewed as strategically significant in terms of national security planning and border management. He further stated that the government will begin installing anti-drone systems across border regions within the next six months.
The visit was attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, senior officials, and top representatives of security agencies, underscoring the high-level focus on strengthening India’s border defense infrastructure.
