Asus India and Vidya India complete one year of their digital literacy initiative, benefiting over 14,000 students, youth, and women across Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa through structured training in digital skills, programming, and emerging technologies, driving education, employment, and community empowerment.

: Asus India has marked the successful completion of one year of its digital literacy program in collaboration with the non-governmental organization Vidya India, reaching more than 14,000 students, youth, and women across underserved communities. The initiative focuses on expanding access to technology and equipping individuals with essential future-ready skills in regions where such opportunities were previously limited.

Since its inception, the program has reached approximately 13,000 children and 650 youth across Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa, while also connecting over 1,100 women with digital awareness and training. The initiative has witnessed strong community engagement and positive feedback, with an average attendance exceeding 82 percent across multiple centers. Currently, the program operates through 19 projects, where trained staff and instructors ensure structured and consistent learning while closely monitoring student progress.

Designed with a defined structure and curriculum, the program delivers digital education through the establishment of computer laboratories, provision of Asus VivoBook devices, and implementation of weekly learning schedules. Participants are trained in a wide range of skills, from basic to advanced digital competencies, including Microsoft Office tools, programming languages such as Scratch and Python, digital safety, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.

Speaking on the milestone, Eric Ou, Regional Director for South Asia at Asus, stated that the partnership with Vidya India has focused on delivering digital education to communities with limited technological access. He emphasized that the progress achieved over the past year highlights the importance of sustained grassroots efforts, adding that the initiative reflects a commitment to equipping individuals with practical digital skills that create long-term impact from classrooms to careers.

Their journey reflects a balance between skill acquisition and practical application, enabling them to contribute economically while pursuing academic goals.

As Asus and Vidya India enter the next phase of their partnership, the focus remains on expanding the initiative’s reach, strengthening learning methodologies, and creating stronger linkages between digital education and employment opportunities. The program underscores Asus India’s broader vision of ensuring equitable access to technology and fostering essential digital skills aligned with the demands of the modern era.
