Amid widespread rainfall across the region, electricity demand has witnessed a substantial decline. Over the past week, power supply in the field has reduced by up to 700 lakh units, reflecting a notable shift in consumption patterns. The decline comes after a peak recorded on March 31, when 2663 lakh units of electricity were supplied in the field due to rising temperatures.
However, following the onset and continued activity of rainfall, demand has steadily decreased. The changing weather conditions have directly impacted electricity usage, reversing the upward trend seen during the onset of summer.
This sudden drop underscores the strong correlation between weather patterns and energy consumption, highlighting how unseasonal climatic activity can significantly influence power demand across the state.
