Indian Schools Across UAE Announce 2026–2027 Academic Year Start with Blended Learning Model Amid Exam Uncertainty

Indian schools in the UAE announce April 6, 2026 start for the academic year with a blended learning model. With structured online classes, enhanced tech support, and parent training, schools aim to ensure continuity after CBSE exam cancellations caused by regional conflict uncertainty.

ndian schools across the UAE have announced the beginning dates for the academic year of 2026–2027, marking a structured yet adaptive return to learning. While a few institutions had already begun remote classes on Monday, the majority will commence the curriculum on April 6, 2026, adopting a blended model of synchronous and asynchronous learning.

This approach enables students to balance live sessions with self-paced activities, ensuring flexibility without compromising academic continuity. The initial schedule remains light, featuring morning assemblies, introductions to new teachers, orientation sessions, and student leadership induction ceremonies, setting the tone for a gradual transition into the academic year.

Live lessons conducted across all classes are being delivered through structured and interactive formats, incorporating digital tools and multimedia resources. “Teaching, learning, assessments, routines, and student support systems continue as planned, ensuring continuity and familiarity for students, staff, and parents,” said Fatima Martin, Principal and CEO of GEMS New Millennium School, in a statement to Khaleej Times.

In preparation for this academic cycle, schools have invested significantly in strengthening technological support systems, ensuring seamless access to devices and platforms for students. Teachers have undergone targeted training to effectively manage disruptions during live lessons while providing continuous support to maintain the quality of learning.

The academic restart comes against the backdrop of recent disruptions, as CBSE had previously cancelled all Class X and XII final examinations due to the ongoing regional conflict after initially postponing them. This uncertainty had created sustained anxiety among parents and students, raising concerns over results and future prospects.

As schools move forward with a structured yet flexible learning model, the focus remains on stability, accessibility, and continuity, ensuring that students navigate the academic year with clarity and institutional support despite recent challenges.
