Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra vs Galaxy Tab S12 Plus: Everything to Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra vs S12 Plus: Key Differences, Specs and Prices
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and S12 Plus launched in India on 7 October 2026. Compare their display sizes, batteries, cameras, connectivity, specifications, prices and Bajaj Finance Easy EMI options before choosing a tablet.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus comes with a 12.6-inch panel. Both screens support a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The larger display on the Ultra provides more working space for document handling, photo editing, sketching with the S Pen and extended streaming sessions.
The two tablets also differ in resolution. The Ultra offers 2960 x 1848 pixels, compared with 2800 x 1752 pixels on the S12 Plus. Although both devices share the same display technology and refresh rate, the additional screen area on the Ultra may be useful for users who regularly work across multiple windows or need more room for creative tasks.
Battery capacity is another distinction. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra packs an 11,600 mAh battery, while the S12 Plus houses a 10,600 mAh unit. Samsung rates the Ultra for up to 23 hours of video playback and the S12 Plus for up to 21 hours. Both tablets support 45W fast charging. The Ultra's larger battery is designed to support longer usage, including travel, extended work sessions and consecutive video calls.
The rear camera systems also differ between the models. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a dual-camera setup comprising a 13MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The S12 Plus has a single 13MP rear camera. The Ultra's additional ultrawide lens provides more flexibility for scanning wide documents, capturing full rooms and framing group photographs. Both tablets feature a 12MP ultrawide front camera for video calls.
Wireless connectivity gives the Ultra another advantage, with support for Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), compared with Wi-Fi 6E on the S12 Plus. On a compatible Wi-Fi 7 network, the Ultra can offer higher throughput and lower latency, which may benefit large cloud uploads, remote desktop work and high-quality video conferencing. Both models are also available in 5G variants.
Portability, however, favours the smaller tablet. The Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra weighs 692g, while the S12 Plus weighs 553g. At 139g lighter, the S12 Plus is easier to carry for everyday activities, including commuting to the office or college and attending client meetings.
Despite these differences, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and S12 Plus share the same core processing hardware. Both are powered by the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset and come with 12GB RAM, offering the same processor and memory configuration for multitasking, app-intensive workflows, photo editing and video editing.
Both tablets also support the Galaxy AI suite in One UI 9, including Note Assist, writing tools and productivity features across supported applications. Their S Pen experience is also shared, with the stylus included in the box and support for low-latency input. Both devices support Adobe Photoshop via the S Pen.
Software support is another common feature. Samsung promises seven generations of operating system upgrades and seven years of security patches for both models. They also carry an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and use Samsung's Enhanced Armor Aluminum frame.
The two tablets maintain slim profiles despite their different screen sizes. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra measures 5.1mm thick, while the S12 Plus measures 5.3mm.
In India, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra starts at Rs. 1,49,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage Wi-Fi variant. The 12GB + 512GB Wi-Fi model is priced at Rs. 1,69,999. The 12GB + 256GB 5G variant costs Rs. 1,64,999, while the 12GB + 512GB 5G version is priced at Rs. 1,84,999.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Plus starts at Rs. 1,29,999 for the 12GB + 256GB Wi-Fi variant. The 12GB + 512GB Wi-Fi model costs Rs. 1,49,999. Buyers opting for 5G can choose the 12GB + 256GB variant at Rs. 1,44,999 or the 12GB + 512GB model at Rs. 1,64,999.
The prices were updated in October 2026. However, the final amount may vary depending on availability, offers and location, and buyers are advised to check the latest price before purchasing.
Both tablets are available on Easy EMIs from Bajaj Finance. The Bajaj Finance Easy EMI Loan covers amounts up to Rs. 5 lakh, while the Bajaj Finance Insta EMI Card covers up to Rs. 6 lakh. Both offer repayment tenures ranging from three to 60 months, with zero down payment available on select models.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is suited to buyers who prioritise a larger display, longer rated video playback, dual rear cameras and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. Its specifications may appeal to users focused on content creation, multitasking across multiple windows and extended productivity away from a desk.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Plus, meanwhile, offers the same processor, Galaxy AI features and S Pen capabilities in a lighter body, with a starting price Rs. 20,000 lower than the Ultra. It may be the more practical option for buyers who value portability and lower upfront costs over a larger display.
Customers can purchase either tablet through Bajaj Finance partner stores using Easy EMI options. The process involves visiting the nearest partner store, selecting the preferred Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra or S12 Plus variant, enquiring about available EMI plans and current offers, choosing a repayment tenure between three and 60 months, and completing the purchase. Customers can take home their selected tablet on the same day.
The choice between the two models ultimately comes down to the balance between screen size, portability and price. While the Ultra offers a larger display, greater battery capacity, an additional rear camera and Wi-Fi 7, the S12 Plus retains the same core processor, software features and S Pen experience at a lower starting price.
