DDU Gorakhpur University Strengthens National Standing with Impressive IIRF India Rankings 2026 Performance

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University has achieved significant success in the IIRF India Rankings 2026, securing notable national positions in Journalism and Mass Communication, BBA, and BCA. The improved rankings reflect the university's commitment to academic excellence, research, innovation, skill development, and the effective implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.

 

Gorakhpur: Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University has reinforced its position among India's leading higher education institutions by securing notable rankings across multiple academic disciplines in the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) India Rankings 2026. The university's strong performance in Journalism and Mass Communication, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) reflects its sustained commitment to academic excellence, research, innovation, and a student-centric learning environment.

In the Journalism and Mass Communication category, covering both government and private institutions, the university secured the 43rd position among 111 institutions across the country. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University is the only state university in Uttar Pradesh to earn a place in this category. The university has demonstrated consistent progress over the years, improving from 66th position in 2023 to 63rd in 2024, and maintaining the 43rd position in both 2025 and 2026.

In the Government BBA category, the university achieved the 25th rank among 78 institutions nationwide. This marks a significant improvement from its 33rd position in 2025, representing a jump of eight places. The university also emerged as the second-highest ranked state university in Uttar Pradesh in this category. Notably, it was not featured in the BBA rankings in either 2023 or 2024.

The university recorded another major achievement in the Government BCA category by securing the 11th position among 65 institutions across India. The ranking improved dramatically from 22nd place in 2025, reflecting an advancement of 11 positions within a year. Among the six state universities from Uttar Pradesh included in this category, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University secured the third position. The university was not ranked in this category during 2023 and 2024.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Poonam Tandon described the achievement as the outcome of the collective dedication and sustained efforts of the university's faculty members, students, research scholars, administrative officers, employees, alumni, and all stakeholders. She stated that under the continuous guidance and inspiration of Governor and Chancellor Anandiben Patel, the university has consistently prioritized academic quality, research, innovation, skill development, and the effective implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.

Professor Tandon said these sustained efforts have enabled the university to deliver consistently stronger performances in national ranking frameworks while establishing a distinct identity in the higher education sector. Congratulating the entire university community on the achievement, she expressed confidence that the recognition would inspire greater excellence and help the institution achieve new milestones at both the national and international levels, further strengthening its reputation in higher education.
