Delhi-Based Priest Arrested for Using AI to Create Explicit Morphed Images of Woman and Her Mother After Rejection

A Delhi-based priest, Sumit Nemchand Sharma, was arrested for allegedly using AI tools to create and circulate over 100 explicit morphed images of a Gujarat woman and her mother after she rejected his friendship request. The cybercrime operation under Mission Cyber Rakshika led to his arrest in Delhi following extensive digital tracking.

A Delhi-based priest has been arrested after allegedly using artificial intelligence tools to generate and circulate explicit, morphed images of a woman and her mother following her refusal to accept his friendship request. The accused, identified as 27-year-old Sumit Nemchand Sharma, who also created and shared religious videos on social media platforms, was tracked and detained by cybercrime authorities after a detailed investigation.

The case involves a woman from Gujarat who initially came into contact with Sharma on Instagram, where he allegedly engaged her in conversations on religious topics. According to the complaint filed with the police, Sharma later attempted to befriend her, but she refused. It is further alleged that after being rejected, he began stalking her online between December 2025 and April 6.

Investigators stated that Sharma downloaded photographs of the woman and her mother from the victim’s social media account and searched online for tools described as “AI remove clothes” applications. He then used these artificial intelligence platforms to create more than 100 explicit and morphed nude images and videos.

Police further revealed that Sharma created three fake Instagram accounts and a YouTube channel using the victim’s name and photographs. The AI-generated obscene content was uploaded on these platforms, accompanied by derogatory comments intended to damage the reputations of the woman and her family. During the investigation, authorities also discovered that he had created between eight and ten fake accounts across multiple platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
