Supriya Sule Celebrates Son Vijay’s NYU Sports Management Graduation Amid Criticism

Supriya Sule celebrated her son Vijay’s MBA graduation in Sports Management from NYU amid mixed reactions, highlighting tensions over Indian higher education access, fees, and limited elite institutions while overseas degrees remain common among political families.

Nationalist Congress Party leader Supriya Sule shared photographs on Friday of her son, Vijay, receiving his Master of Business Administration in Sports Management from New York University’s School of Professional Studies. The graduation ceremony was part of the Class of 2026 events held on May 14 and 15.

While many users offered congratulations to the family, a significant portion of the response drew criticism for pursuing higher education abroad despite political advocacy for India’s domestic education system. Critics highlighted issues such as high tuition fees, reservation policies, and the limited availability of top-tier universities in the country.

Sule’s post received over 2,500 likes, reflecting both admiration and discontent. The discussion underscores ongoing frustrations with gaps in India’s higher education infrastructure, even as overseas degrees remain prevalent among the children of political figures.

The event illustrates the contrast between political narratives promoting local educational institutions and the personal educational choices of prominent families, bringing attention to broader systemic challenges within India’s academic framework.
