Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Launches Intensive Campaign in Sonipat, Targets Congress Over Women’s Issues
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini campaigns intensively in Sonipat during municipal elections, addressing 22 wards and targeting Congress over women’s issues while promising rapid development through a “triple-engine” government and key infrastructure projects.
The Chief Minister began the first phase of his दौरा in the Rai Assembly constituency, where he reached village Rai and addressed a large public gathering. During his speech, he urged voters to support BJP candidates, positioning the elections as crucial for accelerating development in the region. The campaign was marked by sharp political rhetoric, with Saini launching a direct attack on the Congress leadership.
He accused Congress leaders in Delhi of committing a serious lapse on issues concerning women, asserting that the opposition deliberately avoided entering the legislative house out of fear that discussions on women’s rights would take place. He further stated that Haryana would unite to send a strong proposal to secure rights for women, emphasizing his government’s commitment to gender-related issues.
Escalating his criticism, Saini claimed that the conduct of Congress in Haryana was even worse than in Delhi. He appealed to voters to teach such leaders a lesson in the upcoming polls scheduled for the 10th, framing the election as a decisive moment for accountability.
Promoting his party’s vision, the Chief Minister highlighted that a victory for BJP in the municipal corporation would lead to the formation of a “triple-engine” government, which he said would accelerate development work threefold. Stressing infrastructure initiatives, he announced plans to establish Water Treatment Plants and Sewage Treatment Plants in the region to prevent polluted water from entering the Yamuna River. He added that treated water could also be utilized for agricultural purposes, ensuring both environmental protection and resource efficiency.
The intensive campaign underscores the high political stakes in Sonipat’s municipal elections, with the ruling party aiming to consolidate power at multiple administrative levels while positioning development and governance as central electoral themes.
