According to officials, Suryaansh, who is undergoing treatment for cancer, had expressed a desire to see how the police function and to experience the responsibility of an officer. Responding to this wish, the Varanasi police organized a special program in which the child was ceremonially made the Station House Officer (SHO) for a day. Dressed in police attire and seated at the officer’s desk, Suryaansh was briefed about basic police duties and was welcomed with full respect by the station staff.
Police officials said the objective of the initiative was not symbolic alone but rooted in empathy and social responsibility. The child was introduced to daily administrative processes, greeted personnel, and observed how law and order is managed at the local level.
