Nissan Confirms Tekton C-SUV Unveil for February 2026 as India Revival Strategy Gains Momentum

Nissan has confirmed that its new Tekton C-SUV will be officially unveiled in India in February 2026. Designed with a bold, squared-off stance and built in Chennai for global markets, the Tekton will compete with Creta, Seltos, Grand Vitara and others as part of Nissan’s India revival plan.

Nissan has officially confirmed that its upcoming C-segment SUV, the Tekton, will make its global debut for the Indian market in February 2026, marking a crucial milestone in the automaker’s renewed push to strengthen its presence in the country. The announcement was made during the name reveal event of Nissan’s new B-MPV, the Gravite, reinforcing the company’s broader product roadmap leading up to FY28.

The Tekton forms a key pillar of Nissan’s India revival plan and follows the Gravite, which was first previewed through design sketches in October this year. Alongside the confirmation of its unveil timeline, Nissan also released fresh design sketches of the Tekton, offering a clearer look at the SUV’s visual direction. The new sketches reveal a bold, squared-off stance that draws inspiration from the globally renowned Nissan Patrol, combined with the brand’s latest design language seen in its grille treatment, alloy wheel design, and modern lighting elements.

Positioned in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment, the Nissan Tekton is expected to share its powertrain options and feature set with the Renault Duster, underscoring the alliance’s continued focus on platform and technology sharing. Production of the Tekton will take place at the Nissan-Renault manufacturing facility in Chennai, from where it will be exported to both right-hand-drive and left-hand-drive markets, highlighting its role as a global product developed with India as a central manufacturing hub.

Once launched, the Tekton will enter one of the most crowded and strategically important segments of the Indian automotive market. It is set to challenge established players such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Vitara, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Honda Elevate, Tata Curvv, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun. Nissan’s ability to differentiate the Tekton through design, features, and pricing will be critical to its success in this fiercely contested space.

The Tekton is part of Nissan’s four-vehicle rollout plan for India, which includes the existing Magnite compact SUV, the newly announced Gravite MPV, the Tekton C-SUV, and a larger seven-seat SUV scheduled for launch in early 2027. Together, these models represent Nissan’s most comprehensive product offensive in India in recent years.

With its February 2026 unveiling now officially locked in, the Nissan Tekton stands as a decisive test of the brand’s long-term commitment to the Indian market. Its reception will not only shape Nissan’s fortunes in the mid-size SUV segment but also signal whether the company’s broader revival strategy can translate into sustained growth and renewed relevance in one of the world’s most competitive automotive landscapes.
