Addressing the evolving trajectory of India’s global trade engagement, Goyal highlighted that the series of FTAs reflects a strategic push to deepen economic integration with key international partners. He noted that these agreements are designed to strengthen India’s presence in global markets while unlocking fresh opportunities for exports, investment inflows, and job creation.
The minister described the India–Oman CEPA as a significant step forward in bilateral economic relations, aimed at accelerating trade flows and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors. According to Goyal, the agreement is expected to provide a structured framework for enhanced market access and closer commercial ties between the two countries, reinforcing India’s broader trade diplomacy goals.
Goyal underscored that the six FTAs concluded so far demonstrate India’s growing confidence and capability in negotiating balanced trade agreements that safeguard domestic interests while promoting international competitiveness. He added that these pacts are part of a long-term vision to position India as a reliable and influential participant in the global economic system.
As India continues to pursue trade partnerships with economies across regions, the latest CEPA with Oman is being seen as a key instrument in expanding India’s economic footprint in the Gulf and strengthening South–South cooperation. The agreement, officials believe, will not only boost bilateral trade but also contribute to sustained economic growth and employment generation at home.
