By setting up medical colleges across all districts, the state has sought to bridge long-standing regional disparities and bring advanced healthcare facilities closer to people’s homes.
Yogi Adityanath pointed out that in the past, residents—particularly those from rural areas—were often compelled to travel to major cities for specialised treatment and medical consultations. With district-level medical colleges now operational, both rural and urban populations are gaining easier access to timely treatment, specialist doctors, and improved diagnostic services.
He described the initiative as an integrated approach that combines health education with service delivery, creating a stronger and more responsive healthcare ecosystem in the state. According to the Chief Minister, this model not only enhances the availability of trained medical professionals but also ensures that healthcare services reach communities that were previously underserved.
The Chief Minister emphasised that the expansion reflects the government’s broader commitment to building a robust public health system capable of meeting the needs of a large and diverse population.
