AAP Dominates Punjab Local Body Polls, Claims Landslide Mandate for ‘Performance-Driven Politics’
AAP registers a landslide victory in Punjab’s district council and block committee elections, winning over 70% of seats. Arvind Kejriwal says the results reflect public trust in Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s development-focused governance and the party’s “politics of work.”
Reacting to the outcome, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said the party had achieved an almost complete sweep, winning more than 70 percent of the seats contested across district parishads and block samitis. He described the verdict as a clear indication that voters had rewarded tangible development work and people-centric policies implemented by the Mann-led government.
Kejriwal credited the victory to what he termed “politics of work,” asserting that the Punjab government’s focus on development, public welfare, and transparent administration had resonated deeply with the electorate. According to him, the scale of the win demonstrates growing confidence among citizens in AAP’s governance and its commitment to delivering results on the ground.
He further stated that the local body election results reveal a strong political momentum in favour of the party across the state, suggesting that voters are increasingly aligning with AAP’s performance-based narrative rather than traditional political rhetoric.
The outcome of these grassroots-level elections is being viewed as a significant political signal, reinforcing AAP’s position in Punjab and underlining the importance of governance-driven campaigns in shaping voter sentiment. As local bodies play a crucial role in implementing development schemes, the results are expected to strengthen the party’s administrative footprint and influence future political dynamics in the state.
