The development angered passengers present in the Security Hold Area (SHA), who began creating a ruckus. Airline management tried to pacify the protesting passengers.
Another issue that came to light was that the pilot had completed his scheduled duty hours. Under the rules, the pilot was required to take the necessary rest before operating the next flight. It was also reported that a lack of coordination between the duty roster and airline management may have led to the problem emerging at the last moment.
With passengers left waiting and the Mumbai-bound flight unable to depart, the airline management was engaged in making alternative arrangements to operate the flight.
