Canada–India Investment Roundtable Sees High-Level Engagement as Piyush Goyal Courts Global Investors
The Canada–India Investment Roundtable, co-chaired by Piyush Goyal and Maninder Sidhu, brought together major global investors including pension funds and sovereign wealth entities. Discussions focused on infrastructure, financial reforms, clean energy, AI, manufacturing, and digital infrastructure, highlighting India’s push for ease of doing business and stronger bilateral financial cooperation. The meeting emphasized sustainable growth, capital inflows, and expanded economic collaboration between India and Canada.
During the roundtable, Piyush Goyal held extensive discussions with Canada’s leading pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, members of the Canada-India Business Council, and other key stakeholders. The discussions focused on expanding bilateral investment flows and strengthening long-term financial partnerships.
In a social media statement, the Union Minister highlighted that the Government of India’s sustained focus on infrastructure development, financial sector reforms, and ease of doing business is generating unprecedented opportunities for global investors. He emphasized that India’s evolving economic landscape is designed to attract and facilitate long-term capital participation from international partners.
Piyush Goyal further extended an invitation to global stakeholders to collaborate with India in strategic sectors including clean energy, technology, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, manufacturing, and supply chain diversification. He underlined that these sectors represent the core of India’s future growth trajectory and global integration.
The Minister also engaged in discussions on enhancing cooperation in financial markets, with the objective of supporting sustainable economic growth and advancing shared prosperity between India and Canada. The dialogue reflected a mutual interest in deepening institutional linkages and building resilient investment frameworks.
