Rajasthan Announces Rajya Sabha Elections for Three Seats Amid Intense Political Contest Within Congress

The Election Commission has announced Rajya Sabha elections for three seats in Rajasthan, intensifying political activity within parties. Congress is likely to secure one seat based on numerical strength, with leaders like Pawan Khera, Bhanwar Jitendra Singh, and Neeraj Dangi in contention. Voting is set for June 18, with results declared the same day, following nominations and withdrawals in early June.

The Election Commission has announced elections for three Rajya Sabha seats from Rajasthan, setting the stage for a closely watched political contest. Based on the current numerical strength in the state, the Congress party is expected to secure one seat, while competition intensifies within the party for the nomination.

Several prominent leaders have staked their claims for the party ticket. Among the key aspirants are Pawan Khera and Bhanwar Jitendra Singh, both actively seeking nomination. Neeraj Dangi is also making efforts to secure a repeat term in the Upper House.

However, party insiders suggest that the central leadership may consider an unexpected or surprise candidate, similar to previous decisions taken in Haryana, keeping all possibilities open until the final announcement.

According to the official election schedule, the last date for filing nominations is June 8. Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations until June 11. Voting is scheduled for June 18, and the counting of votes along with the declaration of results will take place on the same day.
