Diljit Dosanjh Breaks Silence on Aura 2026 Concert Controversy, Defends Actions Against Disruptive Behaviour
Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh has responded to the Aura 2026 concert controversy through Instagram, clarifying his stance on disruptive behaviour and fan conduct. He denied opposing flags, addressed viral clips, and reaffirmed his commitment to peaceful concerts while urging people to avoid misinformation online.
In his statement, Diljit emphasized that he has no objection to fans bringing flags or banners representing their regions or expressing support. However, he firmly condemned any behaviour that disturbed peace both outside and inside the concert venue. According to him, certain individuals were allegedly abusing his fans outside the event and later attempted to create similar disturbances inside the venue.
Diljit stated that he would not tolerate such conduct at his shows and stressed that his priority has always been to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for genuine fans. He also clarified that he never opposed any specific flag or banner and urged people not to spread false narratives regarding the incident. The singer further revealed that he had remained silent on the issue since the previous year but felt compelled to speak out now. Concluding his message, he wrote, “Love and Peace.”
The controversy gained traction after a video from the Aura 2026 concert surfaced online, showing Diljit reportedly saying, “Show as many flags as you want.” Reports indicated that a section of individuals present at the venue were protesting against the singer. While the exact reason behind the protest has not been clearly established, some reports suggested dissatisfaction among certain groups over Diljit’s recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, alongside criticism for not visiting Punjab during the recent flood situation.
On the professional front, Diljit Dosanjh is preparing for his upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga, directed by Imtiaz Ali. The film features Sharvari and Vaidang Raina in significant roles and is produced by Applause Entertainment and Window Seat Films. It is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 12, 2026. The project also reunites acclaimed collaborators A. R. Rahman, Irshad Kamil, and Imtiaz Ali, known for their celebrated musical contributions to Indian cinema.
The incident highlights the growing scrutiny faced by public figures during large-scale live events, where moments captured on social media often spark widespread debate and controversy, amplifying both perception and misinformation.
