BJP Rejects Allegations of Post-Election Violence in West Bengal, Blames Internal Rift Within TMC

Post-election violence in West Bengal intensifies as BJP denies involvement and accuses TMC of internal factional clashes. Sukanta Majumder claims misrepresentation of party workers, while Abhishek Banerjee alleges targeted attacks, escalating political tensions across the state.

Amid escalating post-election unrest across West Bengal, the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has categorically denied any involvement of its workers in the recent wave of violence and vandalism reported from multiple districts, intensifying an already volatile political confrontation.

State BJP president Sukanta Majumder asserted that individuals allegedly involved in the clashes are not affiliated with his party. He claimed that the violence is the outcome of internal factional disputes within the ruling All India Trinamool Congress. According to Majumder, the incidents unfolding across the state are rooted in power struggles between rival groups within the ruling party, which have now spilled onto the streets in the form of violent confrontations.

Majumder further alleged that certain individuals are deliberately misrepresenting themselves as BJP supporters while carrying out attacks, thereby falsely attributing responsibility to the opposition party. He emphasized that such actions are being projected as BJP-led violence in an attempt to mislead the public and shift political accountability.

The BJP leader’s remarks come in direct response to serious allegations made by TMC leadership, including senior figure Abhishek Banerjee, who has accused BJP workers of orchestrating targeted attacks on party offices. These accusations include claims of large-scale vandalism, with reports of bulldozers being used to demolish property and damage infrastructure linked to the ruling party.
