A major fire broke out at Panacea Hospital in Dehradun, triggering panic and emergency response operations within the healthcare facility. The incident led to the immediate evacuation of all patients, who were transferred to nearby medical institutions as a precautionary measure.
Thick smoke was seen billowing from the hospital premises during regular operational hours, creating a tense and alarming situation for patients, attendants, and hospital staff. Recognising the severity of the situation, hospital workers along with local authorities swiftly activated emergency evacuation protocols and cleared the wards to ensure patient safety.
Upon receipt of the distress alert, the local fire department responded without delay and reached the site within just seven minutes. Chief Fire Officer Abhinav Tyagi stated that the fire response team demonstrated exceptional alertness and efficiency in controlling the situation. He confirmed that the prompt intervention of the fire services successfully contained the blaze before it could spread to other critical sections of the hospital.
As the situation unfolded, senior officials from the district administration and the local police department arrived at the scene to supervise rescue and relief operations. The surrounding area was promptly cordoned off to facilitate the smooth movement of fire tenders and emergency ambulances without obstruction.
