In a significant breakthrough against international narcotics trafficking, the Narcotics Control Bureau has dismantled a major drug syndicate and seized 349 kilograms of high-grade cocaine valued at Rs 1,745 crore in Mumbai. The operation, announced on Friday, marks one of the largest cocaine recoveries in India in recent years.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah disclosed details of the operation on the social media platform X, describing it as a landmark achievement in the country’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking. He stated that the agency successfully cracked down on a major international narcotics ring, highlighting the scale and impact of the seizure.

According to Shah, the operation followed a strategic investigative approach in which the agency traced a smaller consignment to uncover a vast and complex network. He termed this “bottom-to-top” method a trailblazing example of effective enforcement, enabling authorities to dismantle an extensive international syndicate.

The Home Minister commended the efforts of the NCB, congratulating the team for what he described as a monumental success. He further reiterated the government’s firm stance against narcotics, asserting its resolve to decisively eliminate drug cartels operating within and beyond national borders.
