According to the complaint filed with the police, the victim resides with her family in Bal Hanuman Nagar in Agripada. Her father is engaged in the milk business. The young woman had started working as a telecaller at a construction company in Mahalaxmi in February 2026, where she became acquainted with some colleagues. However, due to the closure of the site, she left the job within 15 days.
Detailing the sequence of events, the victim stated that on April 21, 2026, at approximately 11:15 am, she received a message and call on WhatsApp from an unknown number. When she inquired about the caller’s identity, the accused introduced himself as “Ashraf hoon, Piramal wala.” He then began sending messages calling her “cute” and used objectionable language during WhatsApp calls. The complaint further stated that the accused pressured her to enter into a romantic relationship and insisted on meeting at a lodge. He also made explicit sexual demands, which the victim firmly rejected. The woman recorded the audio of the conversations as evidence.
The harassment reportedly continued on April 22, when the accused persistently called and messaged her. He allegedly sent photographs of several girls and claimed to have had sexual relations with all of them. Additionally, he sent obscene photos and videos, causing mental distress to the victim. In her statement, the victim mentioned that when she told the accused that she was Hindu, he responded by saying, “Aaj kal Hindu ladkiyon ko Muslim ladke pasand hai.”
The victim later spoke to her friends, who revealed that they too had received similar messages from the same individual and had blocked his number. Disturbed by the ongoing harassment, the woman, along with her father, filed a complaint at the Agripada Police Station.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against the accused, identified as Ashraf, approximately 25 years old. Authorities have initiated further investigation using his mobile number. The police confirmed that the accused has been arrested and assured that strict action will be taken against him in accordance with the law.
This incident highlights the growing concern over cyber harassment and underscores the importance of timely reporting and strict legal enforcement to protect individuals from such offenses.
