Noida Police Bust International OTT Piracy Racket, Six Arrested for Illegal Streaming Sales

According to police officials, the gang was systematically capturing subscription-based OTT channel content without holding any licence or legal rights. This pirated material was then repackaged and sold as live streaming access to customers based in India, Pakistan and several other countries. Investigators revealed that the illegal services were marketed primarily to NRI audiences, with prices ranging between 100 and 300 US dollars per customer.

Following sustained surveillance and technical analysis, the police identified and arrested six individuals allegedly involved in running the operation. The accused have been named as Tanishka Verma, Anil Baghel, Manish Tripathi, Gaurav Baghel, Radha Ballabh and Yogesh Baghel. All six have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody, police said.

Authorities believe the gang operated through a structured setup that enabled them to intercept and redistribute protected OTT content while evading detection for an extended period. Electronic devices, digital infrastructure and other materials linked to the illegal streaming activity have been seized as part of the investigation. Officials added that further inquiry is underway to determine the full scale of the operation, including its financial trail and possible links to other piracy networks.

The arrests underline growing law enforcement focus on digital copyright violations as OTT platforms continue to expand their global reach. Police officials said the case highlights the increasing sophistication of online piracy and the need for coordinated action to protect intellectual property rights in the rapidly evolving digital entertainment ecosystem.
